In my opinion/experience this build is currently the strongest possible monk setup for competitive greater rift laddering.

1. dkmaxx101: Hey Quin, i am running 2.1.0.26451 and i can't seem to get the skills right is this current e.i. i can't get breath of heaven as my secondary ?

My question is the following:    1) I do not have CdR in shoulder, 14% opted for life.  It is the best 8% of CdR, or keep my 14% life?     2) I have an Erlang Shen helm that gives me 750 Dex, 742 Win, 14% of life, and 4.5% CHC, but no socket.  I have Sunwuko's Crow, it does not have CHC, but has Socket Vit and Dex, I keep my Erlang Shen to find a Sunwuko Crow's better?     3) I have the amulet Sunwuko's Shine has 736 Dex 670 Vit, Speedy Attack Incresead 6%, and changed a status to 97% of ChD.  It is better to keep the 97% of ChD, or open a socket to put the gem Pain Enhancer?  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are the main questions I had in mind, but if you notice something else I need to change, I would love to know  I'm a big fan of this your video, and I'm doing my monk your way.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.

6. Ehre: Flying Dragon ist just a muste have to work this build properly. 2 one-handed weapons would end in a loss of dps, because ur decoys from the set explodes based on ur weapon dmg. Ur asking why Flying Dragon is highly recommended. So i hope you've noticed that this build is based on attackspeed. There are just two aimes of this build: 1. generating ressource as much as possible that u can let explode ur decoys 2. the more attack-speed u got, the more ressource u have. And also based on ur attack-speed, ur teardrop-gem proccs As u heard in the video, ur main dmg sources are the exploding decoys and the teardrop smite as well.

8. Robert Stan: +XGazudin Flying Dragon also has a very decent drop rate, it's really not like a Furnace, Rimeheart or Slenderer/Little Rouge that are some of the rarest weapons ingame. Considering it beats all those and is also pretty mandatory for the build, I'd say monks at least have a upside in the gearing up process.

Gazudin: +Quin C wow that's amazng :) just found one a few days ago, thinking "interesting, that should be useful somehow, in my stash you go". i didn't know what a teasure i just found haha. only missing sunwoku helm or amulet now, i would prefer the amulet because i got the heaven's breath cdr helm.... but yeah, getting a good amulet is so unlikely :/ you can't even really gamble for it.

At least, if you don't have either ICs or the mystic ally boots but do have some good BTs. BTW, Illusory Boots any good? I know I loved walking trough walls and ghosting trough mobs from A to B very fast when I found a pair ages ago.

19. NeoKendalh: Hi Quin! Q: Wouldn't IS:Forbidden Palace with The Mind Eye work better vs. Peshkov + BoH. Specially when in party with others. It gives the dmg reduction vs elite affixes + 30% dmg taken + spirit regen from helm.  The key is to maintain Gogok uptime so the CD on IS is neglectable (maybe 2secs when it is not up, but I do not have CDR on my gloves and weapon) Also with this I go with Conviction - either with Intimidation (for higher rifts) or Overawe. Q2: Depth Diggers - wouldn't it work better with Simplicity's Strength gem instead of PE - so it can also offset bad rolls (lacking LpSS/LoH) from FD? Q3: I feel like relatively lucky with SW Amu - so was thinking to change helm to Andariel's Visage - I got a +20% holy dmg + 6% as, +6% crit + decent Dex roll on it , but lacking socket. I feel stupid asking; as if im completely missing something obvious: if you are switching out Breath of Heaven, WHY would you need CDR in this build at all? I mean could'nt I just run fire ally(with boots), focus on attack speed to spirit regen(plus the talents/abilites) and ignore cdr. I cant see my cdr is good if your NOT using Breath of Heaven, or at least not focusing on it so much as a priority stat. Please explain. (im not using epiphany, but even if i was, is prioritizing cdr really worth it just for that? and clone exploding?) I mean your using the 20% cdr passive. If you used, say, unity passive(with the boots & follower), you essentially getting 15% dmg increase plus 5% to your clones and follower. How is that not better than 20% CDR without breath of heaven?

34. kai meixner: hey dude... nice building :)  but what do u think about blackthorne + sunwuko + aughilds combination ? with blackthorne u have a 15% more damage and thx to ur ring u get the 3rd set boni... so -10% dmg from elites!  and im not sure if ur flying dragon is ur best option! what do u think about odins son + another weapon  so 2 one armed weapons ?  or is ur flying D. just for health ? or for the sunwuko eff of more dmg ?

37. Joseph Fenech: Hi! First of all wanted to congratulate you on your awesome vid. It really explains the build well. Just a couple of questions though. First off, I'm no Monk expert, so sorry if this is a noob question. What do you think about about running double Fire Ally (with Crudest Boots) AND Infused with Light, dropping the Dashing Strike. I know atk speed is really important for this build, but I'm thinking you would be getting attack speed from other sources too (items, gems and skills), which mostly stacks additively, so your total atk speed would be buffed by significantly less than 15% from Dashing Strike Radiance right? On the other hand, you don't seem to have anything else giving you a straight damage buff, so that 20% from  double Fire Ally would be an actual 20% increase in total DPS (ignoring the minor damage contribution from the Allies' attacks and the active effect). I know that more stacked atk speed means more frequent procs of flying dragon, which to a certain degree inflates the effect of a relatively small atk speed boost, but I was just wondering whether it's enough to top the DPS you would gain from double Ally. Oh, and by the way, I was wondering whether Cyclone Strike Implosion could have a role in this build. Aside from the obvious advantage of damaging more enemies at a time with your AoE's, packing enemies closer would also mean you get more procs for your gems, more enemies buffing your atk speed from Pain Enchancer, and they take more Area Damage from each other. I would like to hear your thoughts on the above. Meanwhile, well done, and keep up the good work! :)

TigerBloodMan: It is the other is a pure lighting build using Won Kim Lau/thunderfury with any combo of the 1st set up to the 4th set bonus which is assballs (it just doens't proc all the time) so stick with some combos of blackthorns which is quite good IF you get some good damage/defensive secondary stats on there as well. Do NOT discount pickup radius anyone, it is a good thing to have for melee (lets you get health globes without moving around too much, increases gold farmed per hour and well its just a good thing to have helps in rifts too - less running around). Anyway I digress... 1st set is:  Raiment of Thousand storms.  The 4th set bonus is broken and does not work.  IMO. 2nd set:  Sun Wooko The 2nd set drop rate is pretty low took me ages and ages to get the helm finally.  Concentrate on building a lighting set, aquire some holy damage items with possibilities to augment and/or gather gear/stuffs to get ready to craft many pieces of Auguilds which is quite good but takes sometimes many attempts to get the right combo of stats.

53. sataniccrow82: +michael sitko long answer is: swk proc is based on your main hand dmg range. 2-handers have higher (way higher) dmg, plus you'll take advantage of a nice 20% boost IF you are going to use a combat staff (2 items set bonus), plus the flying dragon proc generates a huge amount of spirit, which will result in more "mantra/sw spam". Flying Dragon > any other combat staff >> any 2handers > dual wield (actually I'm not even sure that a common 2 hander could be worse or better than a dual wield setup)

69. Bertram Bitterbert: My setup is quite close to yours, but i am using cylcone for spending spirit for spawning the sunwokas pets. You are correct that it spawns the sunwoka pet then only each second blast. i am wearing 3 parts of inna set with the ring to reduce set items by 1 which buffs me with all 4 mantras. i dont see the point in spending so much spiritpower into active mantra usage when u can use cyclone. just bomb them :) best with fire rune on cyclone, does nice damage :)

Mcgreyger: A quick observation and question.  I have both Flying Dragon  and spear of Akanesh (24% holy) and Hallowed shield (19% holy)  When using spear and shield my holy damage has a total of 97% increase.   Even though FD has more damage and gets 20% damage boost from SWK the killing speed seems comparable.   Do you have any thoughts or insight into which set up is truly better.

TigerBloodMan: +bob bobby bob Top people get carried fuck off anyway Inna's might not be a good choice after all for some as it does make for harder to clear spirit (spending 75 spirit spawns clones) so that is the goal there.  He uses bladestorm (physical) because of the way it works with stacking attack speed though I suggest holy damage would be better.  Idk..

85. Emperor Ehryn: I just got my Monk to level 70, made it a level 70 wep and got some crummy gear... Basically with 400k strength and a whopping... 7m toughness, the skill set-up lets me solo T1 rifts incredibly easy. I like it. The skill set up itself makes for a great progression build as well.

I'm unable to use unity because I play with my little brother, and I see 99% of the builds say "Use unity and the item that makes your follower unable to die". What should I do instead? I want to make a monk (I currently am playing a lighting barbarian, and my brother and I have trouble with like rank ~24 rifts) but I am not sure what to do about the unity thing.

100. El Rocky Raccoon: Hey Quin, I tested this build in the Xbox 360 version, which is still in the 2.0.6 version. It's working great, not as effective, of course, since some skills Runes don't grant as much Spirit generation, and because we have no Legendary Gems. Also, Sunwuko's proc damage isn't as high (1600% instead of 3500%). I'm using a modified version of this build with The Mind's Eye (Inner Sanctuary increases Spirit Regeneration per second by 10-15) instead of Eye of Peshkov. Also I tested it with some pieces of Inna and Sunwuko for full set bonuses of both (with Ring of Royal Grandeur equipped) and found out it works pretty good, I guess; I know you said that Inna is bad for this build because it lowers the potential DPS, in your topic at DiabloFans, but for survivability it's working fine due the bonus for all Mantras active. Once (if) we get 2.1 on consoles, I'll try to match my gear to what you suggested. It's a great build, fun as hell to use. Thanks. =D

103. WillTRikerNo1: Question, wouldn't that toxic gem be a good 3thd choice? From the Wizard forum I seem to recall that if you encounter those fallen (?) angels their shields react to the poison leaving them wide open for the holy damage which is your main damage dealer anyway.

110. NeoKendalh: Hi, just do Grifts and make sure the gems are either in your stash our in your inventory. Based on my experience the same gem does not drop twice (i.e. if you has already a certain type, you will get a different one). On that note - having a gem at another character inventory/item will be considered as if you would not have it.  Also if the gem is on your follower - it is considered as if you would not have it.
111. ctbram0627: Can you put a link to last years 2.1.1 sunwuko?  I find that build is pretty good as a grinding build without perfect gear.  And of course witching hour again! I ground non-stop from the start of season one to the end of season one and never saw a witching.  I had 1 flying dragon drop and it was garbage!  Meanwhile I friend had like 15 flying dragioonws drop.  It's really fukng frustrating whenb you just get nothing but garbage.  It's like I pissed off a blizzard employee and now my account has a hidden cursed flag!

121. NukieNuggz: +Quin C i agree, but if i am understanding the passive correctly then the uptime is only good if the elite or normal adds is above 75% of life. After that passive is pretty much useless. I would think the % dmg that you get from unity would be much more valuable, especially if you're in a full group. A steady 20% dmg increase in a full group just sound good. Even soloing you get a 15% dmg if you using the crudest boots. Then again you're the expert and i am the student lol. BTW: Awesome vids, i am learning alot...

TigerBloodMan: Finally got the helm yay!  Trying things out my ammie sucks but I got 17% holy damage +attack speed dex/vit so can't do much better than an average drop there I'm sure.  Was running a full lighting build less the set (cause dashing strike is broken and doesn't proc most of the time) but with Won Kim Lau and Thunderfury so my lightning damage was madness.  But I always wanted to try this, already have holy + gear.  Cheers and thx for the vid!  Slow down a bit and maybe do an overview at the end (lots of options were talked about).

153. Danielle Casey: Thanks so much for detailing this build!  It pushed me from T2 to T4 instantly, and with a little extra gear farming/enchanting (and the addition of a Countess Julia's!) I'm now easily running T5.  However, I'm still shy a Flying Dragon! (I know, I know, how horrible of me.)  That being said, looking to the future, my question here is, with the upcoming patch affecting the way Sunwuko's set bonuses work, could there possibly be a more effective weapon choice?  My initial thought is no, but I thought I'd get a second opinion!

Spirit regen is kinda of an issue. Spamming the mantra of evasion and sweeping wind uses up my spirit so quickly. How can I maintain the spirit with this build then? Thanks buddy :)

I do have a question to my monk tough: why is it, that my damage varies between like 900,000 to almost 1,900,000? BUT I couldn't find any relation between the skills I'm using and the damage....... Using the exactly same build as you atm. Love Sponge: I would never use the flat 20% hp over 30% reduced damage below 50% hp, that is 15% total health basically, and most of the time I find myself getting atleast 15% bonus hp, not including paragons, further increasing the bonus from the 30% reduced below 50% while reducing the effectiveness of the flat 20% hp. Also I am not sure if that dodge chance works on any spell effects, but I didn't do the crunching.

196. Richard Chen: Well seriously speaking anything above G rift lvl 30 will require unity ring to survive better (for wizard, DH and WD). But for monk he shouldn't be using unity to show that the build is good. Even for my wizard i wasn't using unity in for lvl 30 to see if i can survive (well cos it will help u alot during group play and some fellow will wear unity with you during grouping. The result is brutal).

206. jamesryan099: i play torment 2 from level one on every character i make from level one untill the monster hp gets too high to dmg. i do this on seasonal too with no gear or paragon so cant say its paragon. but the point is i drop to torment 1 at about lvl 10 when things get to hard to kill and from training on higher torment at low levels it helps me build more survivable and more damageing then i would otherwise kind of like playing a hc character in a game afterwards the lower diffs seem easy. torment 1 is doable from lvl 1-70 no problem it just takes longer then easier diffs and actually helps gear you better. with gear an paragon from an old character you could try doing torment 4 at level 1 just for the first few levels as they will likely come after a few kills before you could even get into town on story mode if you wanted.

210. fan lop:  After 2 weeks of playing since 2.1, it is the first time I've ever HAD used a 3rd party Macro program (Auto Hot Key) for a game , because my fingers were about to fall off from SWK. You pretty much have to spam like a madman for higher difficulty.  You can't just hold them down or your generator attack stops.  So I made a AHK macro that spams mantra every .5 sec.  Yes I know its lame, but jesus my hands.   I beleive CM wizards had to do the same back in the day. I've yet to hear anyone getting banned for simple AHK scripts, including any CM Wiz or SWK Monk.  If this has EVER happened let me know, but I do not think it has.  The official Diablo3 mouse even has similar scripting.

I also have a sunwuko's amulet with dex, crit chance, and att speed. would that be even better? Sry to ask so many specific questions, but i really cant figure this still out on my own, and you are obv the go to for this build. Is there a better place i could contact you with questions?
