2. Andrew H: +benblue3 I think the only misinterpretation is on your side. I never once said everyone should be banned, I said it is a bannable offense. My point is that you're incorrect (and I knew you wouldn't be bothered to read it), lol. Also, there is a significant difference in the use of frozen orb and here, but again I am not advocating banning or any of the sort for people that use it. Blizzard ultimately decides what is bannable and what isn't, but this can fall under that category and people should avoid abusing it.
3. Ludak021: +George Pohm that is the whole point. Once you re-enter, snapshot stays and you give the ring to templar. Still, hard caps apply I think, unless that is broken too. Still, it's decent dmg for low level GRs, not gonna make you do GR50 much easier tho. It's peanuts damage.

10. sfield86: There is no bug..he is doing exactly the dmg he should be doing.  With his barb gear equipped he has 46% elite dmg, 18% physical dmg.  Boss health of 2.8m and ring that does 0.8% target health / tick..38,590,720 dmg / tick at full health on that boss.  If it snapshotted he'd be doing 81.294m  http://prntscr.com/6f331c to show the #s
11. M Rexau: Could you also snapshot the ring on a different character like let's say a Wizard or DH and then put it on your follower so the crazy Ele% Dmg and Elite Dmg goes to the follower?

15. George Pohm: He didn't cover it in the video but I wonder if the ring maintains it's snapshot through un-equiping and re-equiping. If so you could snap shot the ring on your character then move it to your Templar, and let him kill the RG, or at least do a lot of the heavy lifting.

Aika Daisho: +benblue3 Don't be dumb and try to excuse the use of it.  The 'programming' is a mistake ... it clearly should change if your gear changes.  You don't have to "break or alter code" to use an exploit.  Perhaps you should read up on Blizzard's (and most game's) descriptions of exploiting before mouthing off further, hmm?  Nor does the item have to list exactly how the code behind it works in order for you to know it's broken and you're abusing it.  Blizzard understands the difference between people attempting to exploit the game, and those just playing it.  Your double-dipping Frozen orb analogy isn't the same ... it's an ability, and if you're playing a Wiz built on using it, you don't have much choice but to continue using it ... they're not going to ban you, even though you're using an exploit (but have no choice not to until they change the code).  The ring, however, requires you to go OUT OF YOUR WAY to actually exploit the item.  If you know about the glitch, and go OUT OF YOUR WAY  to force that glitch to give you an advantage when otherwise playing the game normally would not give you said advantage, then you're exploiting the system.  And that, my non-friend, is a bannable offense.  /micdrop

Ludak021: Doesn't this ring have a cap on dmg it can do from like...5 patches ago?! 2000% of weapon dmg or 2% of max enemy life, uses the proc which will do the lowest  one of those two (so on a 10 bn life RG it will use 2000% wep dmg obviously). What I mean is, even when snapshot, it can't go over the cap mechanic so who cares.

Brett Reinhard: ok guys, the ring ticks for .4% or .004 of the monsters health twice a second, it is supposed to have a cap at 2000% weapon damage, but with the glitch it seems to remove that cap, making this an exponential problem that looks something like this. y=(monster's health)e^(-0.008x) the monsters health is a integer, while x represents how many seconds the ring is in range and applying damage or "draining life"

33. Mathias Erichsen: They usually take action faster when exploits are made public. Have seen several exploits reported and go unfixed until someone makes a video of it.
34. Francois Tardif: +M Derrien I don't think it's still capped. The max tick I saw was around 22 million vs 39 million using this exploit. So unless I'm mistaken, this bug breaks the 2000% weapon damage cap.

37. Wormweed: I used it on my barb, and im sure it was the ring proc, because i took off toxin and pain enhancer, so i had no dots at all, and i just stood still next to the boss, without attacking it.

Aika Daisho: +benblue3 By the way, he went in to a standard boss fight on Torment 6.  The damage wasn't that great, because the boss' HP was crap.  This ring gets exponentially better in Greater Rifts ... The numbers would begin to dwarf you actual normal DPS capabilities.  This is the reason it is an exploit.  Your analogy about 250k or 1 mil damage is simply ridiculous, please attempt to live in a world of factual numbers.

49. Jon Joseph: AFter changing back to regular gear will the elite and physical damage show on the details menu next to your character or not? I tried this and it doesent seem to show the damage wish makes me question if this is working

If stacking enough elite or physical damage for the snapshot overrides the 2000% weapon cap this is essentially how quickly the bk ring can widdle down a boss' life. Given this data I would imagine the snapshotting of BK ring could ruin monk grift leaderboards given serenity overlap but I am still unsure of how high this ring will tick on a monster of even greater life. In the spreadsheet I have set the the bosses initial life to 27 billion, in 5 minutes hes down to about 10 billion life with just ticks from the ring alone. Let me know what you think and if I have overlooked something.

68. Francois Tardif: Well I can confirm this works. Fought the Skeleton King "normally'" - max ring tick was 22 million (on T6). Logged out/in wearing a bunch of +lightning/elite damage, then put back the exact same gear as before. This time, the max tick from the ring was 39 million.

72. Francois Tardif: +Jon Joseph No, the damage modifiers that were "snap shotted" into the ring dont' show up on your damage sheet. But you can easily test this to see if it works - which it does.
73. benblue3: Clever use of game mechanics. You only think it's an exploit because it's "too good." It should be fixed for obvious reasons, but it's not an "exploit" since that is bannable.

75. mankeli: TBH this exploit won't do anything at current GR meta. Pylons are still way to go for Rift Guardian as Alkaizer demonstrated in his rank 1 GR50 video. Power + Conduit does 100+ BILLION dmg when this ring is capped at 2000% weapon damage EVEN with the exploit.

79. Wormweed: Logged my non season barb just to test this, didnt have the doombringer sword, so i used sun keeper and legacy sun keeper, so i had 78% physical and 124% elite. And in a GR33 the ring ticked for 278 mill dmg.

You need to at least show us the normal tick compare to this "all elite stacking" tick. even if you barb is poorly geared, 700K panel dps, using a furnace. the 36M tick is in normal range. Let's say a 100B HP pool riftguardian need 7 mins to kill, that's effective dps 238M. 36M per tick is just 15% of your edps. Compare to SOJ 20% elemental damange+30% elite and you call it OP? even if you proven to be right, no one will use BK ring anyway in 2.2
83. Aika Daisho: +bradleycontois It's not about 36 mil crits ... it's about 200+ mil crits in a greater rift.  Doesn't matter, Blizz fixed it.

86. empsi: I don't think this is entirely true, The ring itself seems to scale and do more damage to enemies depending how high of a hp pool they have, I used 2 one on myself and the other on the templar, at my tier 49 barb clear the ring was ticking for 120m combined together with my templar on the rift guardian
